There’s a bargain almost every ambitious person makes without realizing it: I’ll live fully once I get there.
It sounds reasonable. Work hard now, arrive later. But “there” is a horizon — it moves at exactly the speed you do. You close the goal and need the next one. You get the title and find a bigger one above it. Nobody arrives. Everybody defers.
I call this deferred living. And it’s not a personal failing — it’s a feature of ambition itself, which is why disciplined, high-performing people fall into it hardest. More effort isn’t the answer. More effort is the trap tightening.
This isn’t about wanting less or slowing down. It’s about what you’re building from — a full tank or borrowed fuel.
Tell me a little about where you are. Discovery calls are 30 minutes, warm, and completely no-pressure.
